Pricing & Profit Calculation

Many Ozon sellers find it "easy to get orders but hard to make money." The core reason is that pricing does not fully account for platform commissions, logistics fees, payment processing fees, withdrawal fees, and return losses. This tutorial teaches you to build a profit model using the "reverse pricing method."

1. Ozon's 5 Hidden Costs

The following fees will be automatically deducted when an order is completed or when withdrawing funds. You must reserve room for them before pricing.

Cost TypeRate/AmountExplanation
Platform Commission5% - 55%Fluctuates by category and price range; increased multiple times in 2026
Logistics FeeBased on volume + delivery directionUsually the largest cost; differs for rFBS/FBP/FBO
Payment Processing FeeApprox. 0.6% - 2%Deducted when buyer pays
Withdrawal FeeApprox. 0.3% - 2%Deducted when withdrawing from collection account
Return Loss ReserveApprox. 3% - 8%Pre-provisioned by return rate; adjust according to actual category

Single Order Cost Structure

  • Selling Price
    • Platform Commission
      • Net Receipt
    • Logistics Fee
    • Payment Processing Fee
    • Withdrawal Fee
    • Return Loss Reserve

2026 Commission Increases (Note Store Type Differences)

  • Local stores: Commission caps for some categories increased from 24% to 55%, e.g., shoes rFBS can reach up to 55%.
  • Chinese cross-border stores: Regular category commissions are usually 5%-24%; there were also increases in 2026, but less than for local stores. Specific rates are subject to the seller backend "Finance → Store Economics".

Old pricing templates must be updated separately by store type and latest category rate, otherwise you may lose money on every order.

2. Reverse Pricing Formula

Don't start by looking at the difference between purchase price and selling price; derive backwards:

Target Net Receipt = Selling Price × (1 - Commission - Payment Fee) - Logistics Fee - Withdrawal Fee - Return Reserve

Acceptable Purchase Price = Target Net Receipt - Target Profit

Example: Selling price 100 RMB, clothing category rFBS

ItemAmountExplanation
Selling Price100 RMB-
Platform Commission14-17 RMBClothing rFBS, about 14%-17% for prices above 135 rubles
Logistics Fee2-5 RMBBased on volume and delivery direction
Payment Processing Fee1-2 RMBApprox. 0.6%-2%
Withdrawal Fee1.2 RMBApprox. 1.2%
Return Loss Reserve3-8 RMBPre-provisioned by 3%-8% return rate
Total DeductionsApprox. 21-33 RMB-
Net Purchase RoomApprox. 67-79 RMBPurchase price must be lower than this to make a profit

Conclusion

If the purchase price of this item exceeds 67 RMB, you are basically working for nothing. Many new sellers only deduct commission and logistics but forget payment, withdrawal, and return fees, only to discover losses at the end of the month.

Reverse Pricing Example Flow

  • Selling Price 100 RMB
  • Total Deductions 21-33 RMB
  • Net Purchase Room 67-79 RMB
  • Purchase Price <= 67 RMB
    • Yes: Profit
    • No: Loss

Good News for Large Items

After some logistics fee reforms in 2026, FBO shipping costs for large items dropped significantly. For example, an 80-liter coffee machine shipped from Moscow to Kazan saw FBO freight drop from 1,241 rubles to 595 rubles, a decrease of about 52%.
